Eligibility:  All ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps interested in studying abroad during the Winter, Spring, Spring Break, Maymester, and Summer terms are eligible to apply.

Amount: $2000
Type: Need-based, first come, first served
Requirements: Students must have completed the FAFSA to be eligible.

Genshaft Greenbaum Passport Scholarship

Genshaft/Greenbaum Passport Scholarships aim to expose USF ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps to the world by providing access to a diverse array of research and global learning opportunities, including but not limited to semester exchanges, dual degree programs, summer and short term programs, international internships and service learning opportunities. Passport Scholarships were created by a $1 million endowment from USF President Judy Genshaft and her husband, Steven Greenbaum. Students receiving this scholarship will be known as Genshaft/Greenbaum Passport Scholars. Scholarship amounts will be $2,500 to $5,000 per person.

Scholarship Criteria:

  • Full or part-time ÅÝܽÊÓƵapp
  • Any academic level
  • Any USF campus
  • Any major
  • US citizen
  • First-time study abroad

Merit and financial need may be taken into consideration.


Ellsworth G. Simmons Scholarship for International Leadership

Applicants must have an interest in international business and demonstrate leadership and community service involvement. Scholarships are awarded for Fall and Spring semesters and summer term. A maximum of $6,000 may be awarded annually.

Scholarship Criteria:

  • For USF continuing undergraduate, graduate, transfer ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps
  • Available to all majors
  • Recipients will be full-time USF degree-seeking ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps
  • US Citizen or International Student eligible
  • Minimum 3.4 GPA for currently enrolled USF ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps; 3.5 minimum GPA for new transfer ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps
  • Financial need considered but not the sole determining factor in choosing recipients
  • Applicants should be residents of Florida; preference to Hillsborough County residents

Joan Newcomb Study Abroad Scholarship

For USF International Studies majors/minors only. Scholarships are awarded fall & spring semesters and summer term. Award amounts are determined by the quality of the application and available funds, but are generally in the amounts of $500-$750. Study abroad duration must be three weeks or longer. Additional consideration given to ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps who balance academics, community service and employment.

Scholarship Criteria:

  • For continuing undergraduate, graduate, transfer ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps
  • Major-International Studies only
  • US Citizen or International Student eligible
  • Minimum GPA is 2.5
  • Financial need considered but not a deciding factor
  • USF Tampa campus only

Mark and Kay Orr International Affairs Study Abroad Scholarship

For semester or academic year study abroad only. Award amounts are $1000 minimum. Recipients will have completed one semester at USF at the time of application. Preference given to study in non-traditional locations.

  • For continuing undergraduate, graduate, transfer ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps
  • Available to all majors
  • US Citizen or International Student eligible

Mark ORR Japanese Study SCHOLARSHIP

For the promotion of full or part-time ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps at all levels, majors, and campuses in the study of Japan at a Japanese university, school, college, or faculty-led program. Award amounts are $1000 minimum. Recipients will have completed one semester at USF at the time of application.

Scholarship Criteria:

  • For continuing undergraduate, graduate, transfer ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps
  • Available to all majors
  • US Citizen or International Student eligible
  • Financial need considered but not a deciding factor

Provost Ralph Wilcox USF-Exeter Student Exchange Scholarship

This award is for full-time undergraduate ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps with junior or senior standing or graduate ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps. This award is intended for ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps planning to study at the ÅÝܽÊÓƵapp of Exeter for a full semester or academic year only. Award amounts are $1000 minimum. Recipients will have completed one semester at USF at the time of application.

Scholarship Criteria:

  • For continuing undergraduate, graduate, transfer ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps
  • Available to all majors
  • USF Tampa campus only
  • US Citizen or International Student eligible
  • Minimum GPA is 3.25 for undergraduate ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps (junior or senior standing) or 3.5 for graduate

USF Federal Credit Union Passport Scholarship

USF Federal Credit Union Passport Scholarships aim to help USF ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps be exposed to the world by providing access to a diverse array of research and global learning opportunities, including but not limited to semester exchanges, dual degree programs, summer and short term programs, international internships, and service learning opportunities.

Scholarship Criteria:

  • For continuing undergraduate, graduate, or transfer ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps
  • Available to all majors
  • Restricted based on a combination of merit and financial need. USF has established GPA requirements for merit-based aid. USF uses the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine financial need.

USF Global Learning Scholarship Fund

This scholarship fund is for subsidizing an global learning experience for a ÅÝܽÊÓƵapp traveling internationally on a USF sponsored study abroad trip. Eligible ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps must demonstrate financial need as documented by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
