ParentVue provides you with real-time access to your child’s academic information, including grades, attendance records, and course schedules. This user-friendly platform allows you to stay informed about your child's progress and engage more effectively in their educational journey.

With ParentVue, you can:

We encourage you to take advantage of ParentVue to empower your involvement in your child's education. Your engagement is crucial to their success, and ParentVue makes it easier than ever to be an active participant in their learning experience.

Hillsborough County Public Schools will transition to Synergy as the Student Information System (SIS) beginning with the 24-25 school year.

Parents and guardians will continue to access Canvas for current class grades, assignments, and communication with teachers. Synergy’s ParentVUE application will provide additional ÅÝܽÊÓƵapp information like report cards, attendance, and graduation status.

In short, Canvas is the day-to-day hub for instruction. Teachers can post assignments, quizzes, and class discussions while integrating curriculum resources and academic tools. Teachers may provide valuable assignment feedback that is viewable by both ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps and parents. Students and parents can also respond to feedback directly in Canvas. Canvas Parent accounts can be created 24 hours after activating the Synergy ParentVUE Account.

The Division of Student, Family, and Community Engagement (SFACE) is dedicated to building alliances and fostering strong partnerships with all communities and stakeholders committed to Hillsborough County Public Schools' vision of "Preparing All Students for Life." Our goal is to ensure access and opportunities for all ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps by empowering families and community organizations to collaborate with HCPS in providing robust support. Together, through a shared responsibility approach, we aim to create meaningful and sustainable pathways that result in long-term positive outcomes for our ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps, families, and the broader community.

A comprehensive school counseling program is an integral part of the educational process. It fosters ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps’ academic, career, and personal/social development to become productive and responsible citizens in a diverse and global community.

School counselors work collaboratively with educators, parents, and professionals to enhance ÅÝܽÊÓƵapp outcomes academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally to provide the best educational environment and opportunities for all ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps.

Hillsborough County Public Schools has implemented a revised Grade Point Average (GPA) weighting scale/calculation model that is recognized universally by colleges and universities, to better prepare ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps for gaining admission to the postsecondary school of their choice.  Any changes would not impact current high school ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps but begin with next year’s (2023) incoming 9th grade ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps.

Our current weighting of advanced coursework that is added to a ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps’ Grade Point Average results in unusually high GPAs. College and university admissions directors must recalculate the GPA of Hillsborough County Public Schools graduates to align with those of other ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps from across the state and the nation.

A realignment of ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps’ weighted GPAs would be more consistent with college admissions and most Florida districts, allowing for more informed and accurate postsecondary options.  The new model will be easier to calculate, while encouraging ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps to focus on taking the most appropriate classes and earn the best grade possible.

Current middle school ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps with previously earned high school coursework would have the credit converted before entering 9th grade to the proposed new weighting scale/calculation model.

The district engaged with current and former ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps as well as parents, Principals, Assistant Principals, school counselors, and district curriculum experts from both middle and high schools to get their perspective on this transition.
