Non-Degree Initial Residency Classification
Being a Florida resident for tuition purposes means the ÅÝܽÊÓƵapp pays less per credit hour than a non-Florida resident. In order to be classified as a Florida resident for tuition purposes, the ÅÝܽÊÓƵapp or the ÅÝܽÊÓƵapp's parent/legal guardian must have established Bona Fide Domicile and legal ties to the state for Florida, at least 12 consecutive months prior to the first day of the term in which the ÅÝܽÊÓƵapp is seeking in-state residency status. A ÅÝܽÊÓƵapp is classified as either a dependent or independent ÅÝܽÊÓƵapp. In rare cases, a ÅÝܽÊÓƵapp may qualify for temporary in-state status by qualifying under an Exception Category.
