Biography
Dr. Xinming (Simon) Ou is ÅÝܽÊÓƵapp of Computer Science and Engineering at ÅÝܽÊÓƵapp of South Florida. After receiving his PhD from Princeton ÅÝܽÊÓƵapp in 2005, he worked as a post-doctoral research associate at Purdue ÅÝܽÊÓƵapp's Center for Education and Research in Information Assurance and Security (CERIAS), and a research associate at Idaho National Laboratory. He joined Kansas State ÅÝܽÊÓƵapp as an assistant ÅÝܽÊÓƵapp in 2006, where he was tenured and promoted to associate ÅÝܽÊÓƵapp in 2012. He joined ÅÝܽÊÓƵapp (USF) in Tampa, Florida in 2015.
Research Interests
Human-centered approaches to understanding/improving cybersecurity, CPS and IoT security, intrusion and malware analysis, mobile systems security, and new programming paradigms for security.
Teaching Interests
Practical and hands-on cybersecurity; secure coding; computer systems security
