Two USF ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps appointed to National Advisory Board for Library of Congress program

Ilene R. Berson and Michael J. Berson, ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps in the Department of Teaching and Learning at the ÅÝܽÊÓƵapp of South Florida, have been selected to serve on the National Advisory Board of the Library of Congress (TPS) Program for the 2025-2027 term.

Renowned for their groundbreaking contributions to the integration of primary sources into early childhood and elementary education, the Bersons bring a wealth of expertise to this prestigious appointment.
 
With millions of books, films, audio recordings, photographs, newspapers, maps, and manuscripts, the is the world's largest. It also serves as the primary research arm for Congress and is home to the U.S. Copyright Office.

Since 2006, the Library of Congress has been awarding Teaching with Primary Sources (TPS) grants to build a network of organizations nationwide. These organizations deliver educational programming and create teaching tools and materials based on the Library's digitized primary sources and other online resources.

Each year, the TPS Consortium's educational initiatives, supported by the Library's extensive collections, enrich the experiences of tens of thousands of learners, fostering knowledge, engagement, and critical thinking skills.
