BLLING members volunteer at local school to improve ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps' bilingual literacy

USF ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps read to children

The USF ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps read to Turkey Trouble to the attentive children.

Members of the Bilingual Language and Literacy Investigative Networking Group (BLLING) volunteered at Achieve Plant City to read Turkey Trouble and lead a hands-on activity with elementary ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps. The children disguised a paper turkey as either a princess, cupcake, gum ball machine, or superhero.

The purpose of the activity was to implement a bilingual language- and literacy-based activity for the kids at their after-school program. BLLING supports the community through hosting events aimed at increasing awareness of bilingual and biliteracy issues.
