The artist-teachers comprising the USF Woodwind Area collaborate and perform with many of Florida’s leading performing arts organizations, orchestras, and chamber ensembles. They create essential musical experiences for audiences and mentor their ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps to seek and achieve relevant, meaningful goals. Actively performing and teaching around the world, they infuse their studios with substantial experience gained as educators, researchers, soloists, chamber musicians, and orchestral players.
USF Woodwind Area ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps undertake a comprehensive curriculum designed to afford opportunities to explore a variety of career potentials. Students work closely with their applied ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps in lessons, studio classes, and chamber music ensembles ranging from mixed small groups and wind quintets to full choirs of like instruments. Recitals, guest masterclasses, convocations, annual orchestra and band concerto competitions, and visiting artist and ensemble residencies promote further collaboration and performance. The Tampa metropolitan area also affords the USF Woodwind community and its ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps diverse performing and teaching opportunities, venues, programs, and connections, including touring shows, a variety of orchestra and opera companies, recording studios, teaching artist connections, and more.
