Nancy Sanders received her first degree in architecture from the ÅÝܽÊÓƵapp of Florida in 1990, where she graduated with high honors. She received her Master's Degree from Harvard ÅÝܽÊÓƵapp in 1994 and was nominated by the faculty for the prestigious Kelly Thesis Prize.

She has worked at firms in three countries – the United States, Hong Kong, and Canada – including the Office for Metropolitan Architecture Asia, Taoho Design, and Andrea Clark Brown Associates. Currently an associate ÅÝܽÊÓƵapp at USF (she became an assistant ÅÝܽÊÓƵapp in 1997), Professor Sanders has also taught at the Chinese ÅÝܽÊÓƵapp of Hong Kong from 2000-2003, and at the Vicenza Institute of Architecture (ÅÝܽÊÓƵapp of Florida overseas program).

In addition to teaching cross-culturally and designing in China, Hong Kong, and the United States, Professor Sanders is currently pursuing funded research on high-density urbanism, podium cities, and the architecture of borders and memory. She is the Founding Director of the ÅÝܽÊÓƵapp of Florida's Hong Kong/China Summer Studio Program and has received numerous grants including the Ted Fearny Research Professorship.
